Warframe I:Rise of the Grineer

In a dimension parallel to our own, within a very dark and empty realm, the FRAMEs are first formed. They are a mix of rock-hard material and soft bio-matter, a hybrid of life and matter, a new kind of weapon. It is said the Frames were created for the sole purpose of serving mankind by preserving and expanding its knowledge of the ever-expanding universe. Human technology enabled us to force our will upon the FRAME, breathing life into its body. A FRAME can act, but not think. It is alive but not living. It just...exists.

With the FRAME humans could now travel from galaxy to galaxy and expand their empire. This new ability consoled the tormented soil of our over-populated home, planet Earth, as more and more FRAMES would return with new information regarding homey planets outside our solar system. Soon we embarked on spaceships and flashed through artificial wormholes, beyond the limits of time and space, into the unknown.

Many of the spaceships never returned because, unlike the FRAMEs, earthly materials could not withstand the shifting of time and space. And many FRAMES could never return either, forcing their owners into a life of solitude and torment, forever sleeping in the Splicing Chambers, waiting for some miracle to separate them from their FRAME's body. Those tragic incidents gave food for thought to scientists across the world. Soon after the events a new kind of FRAME was born. One who could think for itself and could carry out dangerous missions without risking the life of humans. LOKI.

Trainees of the WWFF (World Wide Frame Federation) were excited to try him out at first but LOKI turned out to be extremely challenging and was offered as an award to three experienced Users that had taken part in the Scavenger Missions. Aurel, Micha and Vayne. The first two received an original copy of LOKI 2.0 (which was still on BETA test) but the funds were not enough for a third one, so Vayne only got a LOKI 1.4. Four years later and after many successful missions Micha was found dead in her  appartment, after she'd drowned herself in the bathtub. The incident seemed suspicious but it was not until Aurel Fadge commited suicide as well that LOKIs were connected to the events. The FRAMEs were prohibited and withdrawn from the WWFF. The only LOKI that was not dismembered and disintergrated was that 1.4 model left in the tiny arms of Vayne Michelle, who stood down from her position as commander in respect to her fellow colleagues and because she was not willing to give up her FRAME or retire from the Forces.



That was the spark that set up the riot.

A small movement until then, the Grineer stood out and called to the conscience of all their fellow humans: "The FRAMEs are a threat to our kind! Their power is uncontrollable and if they escape their cages they will ramage and anhilate us! Rise up, brothers, we do not need aliens to stand up for us! Why abandon your body for a better one when you can just upgrade it?!"
